Nature's Words: Books/Photos/CDS I self-publish much of my poetry and non-fiction under the Green Seer Books imprint (see below), but from time to time I also collaborate with other publishers. I have two children's books, Hope and the Magic Martian and Hope and the Super Green Highway, out with Lollypop Publishing...
10 year-old Hope is keen to meet a Martian and a Martian boy with a big heart wants to know why Earth's polar caps are melting. At the North Pole, the new friends hear the Arctic animals' stories about their warming world. What can Hope do? At a time when the future can seem uncertain, this modern fable offers a loving vision of how we can all change the story that shapes our world.
‘Hope and the Super Green Highway’ is Helen Moore’s brilliant page turning sequel to ‘Hope and the Magic Martian’…. Warm, intelligent, inspiring and thought provoking, this story is ideal for children from 8 to 12. It should be in every primary school.” – Eric Maddern, storyteller and author “Principle without preaching.” –
Hugh Montgomery, author of ‘The Voyage of the Arctic Tern’
and ‘Cloudsailors’ Some reflections on self-publishing... Taking the means of production into my own hands, gives me the freedom to publish writing that is my own response to the world in which I find myself. Unlike many authors, it also gives me the possibility of using sustainably produced materials, such as recycled papers, and of printing on demand. My poetry books are designed to be artist's books and are hand-stitched and decorated with a bead on the spine for easy identification on bookshelves. In 2006 Ilaunched my first non-fiction, illustrated title, Changing Nature: Eco-Notes of a Digital Woman, under GreenSeer Books. I also publish my poetry under the Henwen Publications imprint – more below. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CD COMING OUT IN JUNE 2010... Poems in the face of corporate power, published by Corporate Watch "This ground-breaking collection of poetry celebrates the first ten years of Corporate Watch. This collection brings together radical anti-corporate poetry from over 60 talented poets. Dip into this book and you will find poems to be performed at rallies, and songs to sing while locked onto the gates of a nuclear power station, poems with a pumch and power that shout loud and proud with brazen razor wit and bare-faced cheek.
